Green Libraries Conference 2025

The first Green Libraries Conference in 2023 showcased over a year of sustainable and attainable green projects and initiatives. With a keynote from the then Minister of Arts and Heritage, the Conference was attended by over 100 delegates
representing libraries and local government. In 2024, over 180 delegates representing libraries across the sector came together at the British Library in London to discuss the unique position libraries hold in educating, raising awareness
and taking action on the environment.
This two-part series covered all the points in the Green Libraries Manifesto, to smoothly and effectively transform your library into a green library. The training focussed on the unique position of libraries as centres of their communities and
how to make use of collaboration and partnerships to lead on green initiatives with limited resources.
An introduction to the Green Libraries Partnership and presentations from Oldham and Suffolk libraries on their work and developments towards sustainability.
